Affiliate Terms and Conditions

These conditions apply specifically to affiliates and are supplemental to the general terms of use of the ExpatMatch site.

1. Your Members

The ExpatMatch affiliate tracking system will record all NEW members who join ExpatMatch by following your affiliate link or links. Members who have already joined ExpatMatch prior to clicking on your links will not be added to your referred member base.

2. Tracking

Tracking is accomplished using non-persistent session cookies. If a user is using a browser that does not support cookies (by choice or by design) or if they terminate their session after following your link to the ExpatMatch site but before completing the join form, they can not be tracked.

3. Commission

ExpatMatch will credit your affiliate account with 10% of the total first time subscription fee paid by ExpatMatch members when they subscribe. Subscription renewals are not included in the affiliate program.

4. Your Account and Payment

Your affiliate account will show total commission generated and funds available for payment. Commission matures and becomes available for payment (subject to a minimum settlement balance described below) 10 weeks after being generated. The delay is to allow for possible customer credit card charge backs, disputes and refunds. Therefore commission generated in week 1 will be available for payment at the end of week 11, commission generated in week 2 will be available for payment at the end of week 12, etc, etc.

The subscriber commission associated with any payments refunded by ExpatMatch or charged back by the subscriber's credit card issuing institution will be deducted from your balance available for payment.

You may request payment at any time when your available balance exceeds R250 (or US$100 for affiliates outside South Africa). A settlement fee will be deducted from the funds paid. The settlement fee is dependent on the method of payment you choose. Our pledge is to keep settlement fees as low as possible and only cover the costs of payment. No fee is charged for our administration of your affiliate account.

No interest is paid on funds available for payment that remain in your affiliate account.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You may not modify any material supplied to you by ExpatMatch, including graphics, software code, etc. You may only use banners, buttons, logos, etc supplied by ExpatMatch. You may not create your own banners, artwork, etc. for use with the ExpatMatch affiliate program.

6. SPAM

Under no circumstances may you promote ExpatMatch using spam, unsolicited emailings, bulk emailing techniques, chat room bots or any other unethical methods. If you post affiliate links on third-party Web sites, such postings must comply with those sites' terms of use. Complaints about spam of any form containing your affiliate links will normally lead to a warning in the first instance and summary termination of your affiliate account for subsequent complaints. In severe cases we reserve the right to terminate accounts without warning.

7. No license

Becoming a ExpatMatch affiliate does not transfer any license or rights to the ExpatMatch site, membership, technology or our associated products and services to you.

8. Warranty

Access to the ExpatMatch affiliate program is provided without any form of warranty as to the performance, availability or duration of the ExpatMatch service. No representation is made as to the potential affiliate earnings potential.

9. Termination

ExpatMatch reserves the right to terminate any affiliate's membership without notice. You may likwise terminate your affiliate account at any time.

Where an affiliate account is terminated, by you, or by ExpatMatch, and the available balance exceeds the minimum stated above, the balance will be paid to you less the standard settlement fees noted above. Where the affiliate account balance is less than the minimum required for settlement, no payment will be made on termination.

10. Indemnification

By accepting this agreement you acknowledge that any legal action taken against you and possible costs arising from such action is solely your responsibility and that you indemnify ExpatMatch from any such action.

11. Transfer

This agreement is personal to you, and you may not assign your rights or obligations to anyone. In the event of ownership of your Web site being transferred you are to advise ExpatMatch of such changes.
